The Day America Lost the War
On [Isamo-fascism]

by Ben Shapiro - January 28th, 2009 - Townhall.com

[Barack Obama] stated that his job is to speak for the Muslim world, defending them from Americans’ negative perceptions: “And my job is to communicate to the American people that the Muslim world is filled with extraordinary people who simply want to live their lives and see their children live better lives.”

No, Mr. President. Your job is not to communicate to the American people that the Muslim world harbors us no ill will. That is their job. The Muslim world must demonstrate with its words and actions that they do not wish America replaced with an Islamic state. They must demonstrate that they do not support terrorism against America and our allies.

Your job is to protect and defend the United States of America. That is your sworn duty.

If anything exemplifies why I am depressed and demoralized and fear for my country it is the new President making his first foreign interview an apology to our enemies on a TV network that supports our demise. Our young people are enthusiastically following a man who argues against everything that built the nation which currently gives them so much freedom and provides them with such an easy life. Barack Obama is a global socialist, and that movement has made it very clear the destruction of America is what it seeks. Obama is an active participant in that goal.

He also proved that he does not have a clue about the middle east. This is exemplified by his comments claiming that 30 years ago we had a good relationship of mutual "respect and partnership" with the middle east. The Iranian Ayatollahs locked up everyone in the U.S. Embassy 30 years ago. We had just survived the OPEC attempt to take over our nation with a gas embargo. Lybia was arrogantly bombing 747 jetliners. There were military coups in Turkey and Pakistan and repression in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Iran was arming Hezbollah and Syria was invading Lebanon. America had some fragile relationships with tyrannical regimes from whom we needed oil, but there was no mutual "respect and partnership" in any of those or anywhere in the middle east.

With this speech Barack Obama proved what everyone who fought against his election predicted. Obama is not an American and has little grasp of history. He is an amateur global liberal who has accomplished little except make fancy speeches about overly naive 'hope' and 'change' as Alinsky defined it. He sees himself as a global ruler who serves a global community. That global community includes the very people who we are at war with. It is not a war we started. Until now though we were determined to win. What does it say to the many parts of their societies that are disparaged and who love George W. Bush for giving them hope of ending the tyrannies that currently govern their nations. Who do they look to now that Obama has signaled America has abandoned them? Our youth have now joined this naive liberal movement and elected a man who is ready to surrender without a fight.

May God have mercy on the people of America, especially the future generations who will pay the price for this mistake.
