Spitzer And Sarbox Were Deregulation?

by James Freeman - October 31st, 2008 - Wall Street Journal

In this fall's first presidential debate, Barack Obama analyzed the causes of the credit meltdown [in his opinion]. "Now, we also have to recognize that this is a final verdict on eight years of failed economic policies promoted by George Bush, supported by Senator McCain, a theory that basically says that we can shred regulations and consumer protections and give more and more to the most, and somehow prosperity will trickle down."

The truth is that George W. Bush was a disaster for conservatives and libertarians who believe in free enterprise. During his leadership, more and more abusive socialism was unleashed on the mortgage lending industry, Sarbanes-Oxley was implemented with its demented mark-to-market concept and other truly brainless regulations were created to devastate numerous small businesses in America. Bush was responsible for a huge increase in regulations and burdens on business.

This article from the Wall Street Journal focuses on the consequences of Bush's damage to the Wall Street crowd (which in recent years has advocated corporate socialism that is about as far from free enterprise as government socialism is). Bush's regulations on IPOs have driven numerous corporations overseas and will continue to do so for years.

That is one reason out of many why you have to recognize that George Bush truly is clueless when it comes to business. The three primary causes of the home mortgage debacle were CRA, revoking Glass-Steagall and Sarbanes-Oxley's mark-to-market. Bush did not fix a single one of these with his $700 billion bailout. What he did is create a huge slush fund for the next President, probably Obama, to use to blackmail corporations to comply with his policies. The bribery and pork that was added to the bill to get it passed was another billion dollars.

How does this help free enterprise in America? It doesn't. And the timing killed the momentum of the McCain candidacy. Who besides me thinks that is why Bush did it?

Student Suspended For Publishing Conservative Website

by Thomas Lifson - October 31st, 2008 - The American Thinker

Back in the USSR, they sent dissidents to psychiatric confinement; in ultra-blue Marin County, they suspend them from school and send them for "psychological evaluation."

What is truly frightening is the disapproving reaction of writer Thomas Lifson and his contention that the school system overreacted. Overreacted? Try exhibited tyrannical intimidation of an impressionable mind. Intimidation is the current level of tyranny that is being practiced in our schools and our nation, but it will not be long before this tyranny goes much further. The fact that Barack Obama is seriously being supported by half of our nation is frightening when matched with the evil tyranny that has been practiced wherever socialists get control.

Whether John McCain wins this election or loses, we are on track to become a communist nation in very short order. Even the Republican George Bush proved to be a big government socialist loving tyrant. When did our nation stop loving freedom? When did redistributing wealth replace creation of wealth as the American dream?

Running Against Bush

by Caroline Glick - October 30th, 2008 - Jewish World Review

Obama has successfully cast Bush's presidency as a repeat of Ronald Reagan's presidency. Obama has portrayed Bush's foreign policy as a reenactment of Reagan's muscular, pro-American foreign policy which was based on Reagan's belief in American exceptionalism and his willingness to disregard what America's enemies and its erstwhile allies thought of America's actions. Obama has also portrayed Bush's economic policies as a reenactment of Reagan's policies of free market capitalism characterized by deregulation and tax cuts.

Obama has claimed that European and Muslim estrangement from the US; the increased strength of the insurgency in Afghanistan' Russian aggression; the resilience of the insurgency in Iraq; Iran's unimpeded drive towards nuclear weapons, and every other major US foreign policy problem are the consequences of Bush's embrace of Reagan's foreign policy approach. Obama claims that the financial crisis too, is a consequence of Bush's Reaganesque tax cuts and his general embrace of supply-side economics and the conservative preference for limited government.

By so defining Bush's record in office, Obama has been able to make a case for his own policies, which are diametrically opposed to those he ascribes to Bush.

There is only one problem with Obama's description of Bush's record in office. It is utterly false.

This is a very interesting article. In addition to the statements above about the mischaracterization of Bush's record by Obama, there is a great litany of the failures of Bush to portray his own actions honestly and correctly. I have always used the term, "tone deaf" to explain why bush could not communicate well. Glick has convinced me that it was more incoherence in understanding and advocating mistaken policies that led to the communication problems.

I love the following quote:
In short then, both in foreign and domestic affairs, Bush's record is completely at odds with Reagan's record in office. Indeed, his policies have been far more similar to those that Obama - who runs as the anti-Reagan -- promises to advance than those that Reagan adopted.

And this is the great irony of the campaign season. By failing to accurately represent his policies to the public, Bush invited Obama to misrepresent his record and so wrongly ascribe Bush's failures to policies he never adopted - much less implemented.

Bush took over with Republicans in control of all three branches of the federal government. However Bush could not lead, according to Glick at least as much because he did not have a clue where he wanted to lead us as because the agenda he advocated was not Republican. Bush did not follow the Republican agenda in most ways. He and Karl Rove have destroyed the Republican Party because they NEVER represented the Republican Party. We allowed a big government socialist to lead our Party and the nation at a time when we needed a true libertarian-conservative who loved America for what it was, not for what they could make it. Bush led under false colors.

Now, 8 years later, George Bush is reviled by both the people whose agenda he adopted, the socialists, and the people he pretended to represent, conservatives and libertarians.

Glick faults McCain for not clearly explaining the difference between his policies and Bush's policies. I think I know why he failed. McCain, like Bush, does not really think through the logic of his positions. He has gut instincts. However the intellectual heft that allowed Ronald Reagan to truly understand what he stood for and why, does not exist in McCain. Thus he can embrace the evil of McCain-Feingold and never have a clue why true conservatives despise his position.

Though not as evil as Bush, McCain would still be a man groping for a path to succeed in leading a free nation, and like Bush, in grave danger of veering left to tyranny on many issues without realizing it.

Obama on the other hand knows exactly what he wants. The duplicitous way he has sold his program indicates he is far better prepared to veer left intentionally, rather than be steered there due to a misunderstanding.

Dead People Voting Throughout Florida

by Staff - October 30, 2008 - WFTV Channel 9

Thousands of dead Floridians are registered to vote and some in Central Florida had ballots cast in their names long after their deaths.

"That is scary," said Jim Branch.

Branch's mother Marjorie died in 2004 but someone voted for her in 2006. Branch had tried to get his mother removed from the voter rolls.

Democrats are in love with ACORN. Their adoration for this corrupt organization gives a whole new meaning to the Democrat mantra "let every vote count".

A Psychologist Helps
Repackage Democrats' Message

by Shaila Dewan and Robbie Brown - October 30th, 2008 - International Herald Tribune (New York Times International Edition)

Democrats up and down the ballot have been trying to reverse the Republican rhetorical dominance that made "liberal" an unsavory label, and many have found help in a slender document percolating through their party's hierarchy.

It is called the "Message Handbook for Progressives From Left to Center," and, along with a companion piece on health care, it was created by Drew Westen, a psychology professor at Emory University here who was virtually unknown in political circles before this election cycle. Several Democratic consultants say it is the first systematic, data-driven effort to mold the language of the left to fit the sensibilities of the center.

In other words, it is not that people dislike having government bureaucrats tell them how to live their lives, it is that you must not flaunt that intention in your campaign rhetoric. Does anyone remember the famous speech by Barack Obama about "just words"?

This article points out the really sad part. This entire campaign has come down to the concept that liberals (i.e. socialists) have not changed their goals. They have just changed their rhetoric. The question of greatest urgency? Is that enough to get the votes of people who would be offended if the goals were clearly stated.

Don't forget that Barack Obama insisted his desire to "redistribute the wealth" did not mean socialism. When caught clearly explaining his true goals he still made sure that the "label" was not the one that connoted his evil intentions, but the rhetoric of benign "goodness". Just words. However the liberals and socialists on the left are determined to blur your perception of intent. They do not intend the evil unintended consequences that socialism always delivers, therefore they cannot be blamed when those evil consequences occur. Does that make sense to you?

Democrats are outraged when America makes it legal to listen to phone calls of terrorists who want to destroy America, but they stand idly by when Democrats illegally research the private records of "Joe the Plumber" for the dastardly act of not buying Obama's rhetoric. Want to know how evil a Barack Obama Presidency will be? Simply look at the evil actions of Obama supporters in their illegal attempts to destroy anyone who questions Obama's intentions.

If Obama wins, this nation will become a tyrannical state with a speed that will astonish the gullible voters who are gulled by the new psychologist based rhetoric.

FCC Probe Signals
Democratic Attack Machine

by Rowan Scarborough - October 30th, 2008 - Human Events

The FCC has sent letters to some of the nation's most prominent military analysts -- some of them pro-President Bush and pro-war -- suggesting they may have broken the law when they appeared on television stations to comment on and explain the war on terrorism.

The FCC investigation raises the question of whether a Democrat-controlled Congress and White House next year will investigate -- and perhaps criminalize -- all sorts of actions taken by the Bush administration.

So much for the illusion that our Constitution guarantees freedom of speech. We are about to see how socialists deal with individual rights. The arrogance of the socialists who support Obama is typical of the arrogance that socialists always represent. It is the primary reason that life in a socialist state is ALWAYS a life of tyranny and indoctrination.

What I don't understand is why anyone is surprised. Oh, that's right. 40 years of our incompetent school system has left a large part of our population incapable of intelligent though.

The Repugnance Of Socialism

by Kyle-Anne Shiver - October 30th, 2008 - American Thinker

A great many Americans -- perhaps even a majority -- seem poised to hand over vast amounts of their hard-earned money and their hard-won liberties to the promised "collective redemption" being offered by Barack Obama and his socialist band of "progressives" in Congress. With the votes of nanny-state supporters from all classes among us, their utopian dreams will be put to the test on our own ground and the reach of our federal government will be expanded drastically according to their plans.

Utopia. The dream that is being forecast by Barack Obama. Slavery. The reality of socialism wherever it has been tried. The conflict between these two dreams is now becoming a nightmare for those who still prefer working for their own freedom and success.

The fear I have is simple. Even if we defeat Obama this time, he is a perfect example of the trend towards more and more big government control of our lives. What is the chance that McCain, co-author of McCain-Feingold, will actually change the long term direction of our nation?

Obama's Economic Mythology

by Steve Chapman - October 30th, 2008 - Real Clear Politics

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, average hourly earnings of production and nonsupervisory workers, adjusted for inflation, fell by 4 percent between 1975 and 2005. But those figures deceive because they omit fringe benefits like health insurance, pensions and paid leave, which make up a bigger share of total compensation than before. The numbers also rely on a mismeasure of inflation.

When those flaws are corrected, a very different trend leaps off the page. Median wages, says Fitzgerald, rose 28 percent between 1975 and 2005. Nor were the gains restricted to Bill Gates and Hannah Montana: Significant gains occurred in the middle as well.

The same pattern holds for households. The figures that suggest families are struggling to stay even overlook some types of income, and they don't account for the fact that households have gotten smaller on average. After accounting for such things, Fitzgerald found that "inflation-adjusted median household income for most household types increased by roughly 44 percent to 62 percent from 1976 to 2006."

Just as you will never hear that Barack Obama is a red diaper baby, raised among communist party members and groomed to be the stealth candidate of Marxists, you will never hear any good news about the free enterprise driven American economy from the MSM.

The totally obvious proof that America's border is being beaten down by millions of illegal aliens who pour in for jobs and a better way of life here, does not dissuade our liberal brethren from claiming America is failing. Nothing will persuade them that the Utopia promised by the socialist dream is superior to the opportunity to succeed which the American dream has always delivered. They ignore the millions striving to come here. Creation of wealth means nothing to them. Redistribution of wealth is the only mantra they understand.

Barack Obama will be a disaster for America.

Taxes And Beer

In a message dated 10/24/2008 5:30:12 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, juergenhbr@ieee.org writes: How's this for explaining the tax system?

Our Tax System Explained in Beer

By: David R. Kamerschen, Ph.D.
Professor of Economics.
University of Georgia

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.

The fifth would pay $1.

The sixth would pay $3.

The seventh would pay $7.

The eighth would pay $12.

The ninth would pay $18.

The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

One person pays more than half the bill but drinks the same as the rest. So, that's what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve.

"Since you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20. "Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?'

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so the fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).

The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).

The seventh now paid $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).

The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).

The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).

The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their so-called savings.

"I only got a dollar out of the $20," declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man, "but he got $10!"

"Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man. "I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I!"

“That's true," shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!"

"Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison. "We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!"

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up. The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

For those who understand, no explanation is needed.

For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.

Obama, The Hoax

by Admiral James Lyon - October 29th, 2008 (publication date, not posting date) - Washington Times

We can't see his records from prep school, Occidental College, Columbia University or Harvard. What was his thesis? Who paid for his education at Harvard, since there is no record of student loans?

There are even questions concerning where he was born. This is a fundamental and critical question. Was he born in Hawaii or Kenya? Did he become an Indonesian citizen? If so, he would have had to give up his U.S. citizenship. Was he then naturalized as a U.S. citizen when he returned to Hawaii from Indonesia? The documentation needs to be made public now. Certainly, security clearance requirements will require that the original documents be produced.

If the backgrounds and record or accomplishments of the two candidates were reversed, you can be assured the message coming out of the major media outlets would be quite different.

Welcome to the world of socialism. With the evil force of political conspiracy, based solely on the Utopian dream of a failed economic system, our MSM is about to sell a total hoax to the American people.

You and I have to present a provable bonafide birth certificate in order to get a passport. Yet registrars all over America, almost universally Democrats, make no requirement to validate a candidate's legal right to run when someone registers to become President. Why? What a surprise that people who passed motor voter so illegal aliens could vote would be happy to allow a stealth candidate get away with refusing to prove being born in America. For any candidate on the right, you could depend on the press to validate the candidate. For any candidate on the left, attempts to validate the candidate are actually denounced.

The only important question, are the American people stupid enough to buy this hoax?

Biden And The Tale Of Aldrich Ames

by Jeffrey Lord - October, 28th, 2008 - American Spectator

In spite of a warning from his Republican predecessor, one of Senator Joseph Biden's first acts as the new chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee in 1987 was to abolish the Committee's Subcommittee on Security and Terrorism. Biden's action came just as one of the most famous spies in American history had begun leaking secrets to the Soviet Union. The spy -- Soviet CIA mole Aldrich Ames -- went undiscovered for nine years, almost the entire period of Biden's chairmanship of the Committee. Biden relinquished his post after Republicans re-captured the Senate in 1994. Ames was finally arrested that year.

There is a famous quote, "Those who will not learn from history are condemned to repeat it." If Obama-Biden are elected, it is not the Marxist Messiah alone who frightens me. Joe Biden is a perfect example of the old cliche in business. "Some people have 20 years experience. Some people have 1 years experience 20 times." That last sentence is a perfect description of Biden.

Their election will be a disaster from which America is unlikely to recover.

More Executives Sold On Obama

by Ken Dilanian - October 28th, 2008 - USA Today

Dan Cooper, a proud member of the National Rifle Association, has backed Republicans for most of his life. He's the chief executive of Cooper Arms, a small Montana company that makes hunting rifles ...

This year, Cooper has given $3,300 to the campaign of Democrat Barack Obama. That's on top of the $1,000 check he wrote to Obama's U.S. Senate campaign in 2004, after he was dazzled by Obama's speech at that year's Democratic National Convention ...

Cooper changed sides, he said, "probably because of the war. And also because the Republican Party has moved so far right in recent years."

He also likes Obama's message about "the retooling of America, which involves the building of middle-class jobs and helping American small business be competitive with those overseas."

"The Republican Party has moved so far right in recent years." What?

George W. bush and Karl Rove have made us the party of "compassionate conservatism", socialism light. We have not moved right. We have moved left. The MSM continues to harp on this theme of Republicans as "far right", yet no one who is libertarian or conservative can see it. What exactly constitutes "far right"? Fighting the war against Islamo-Fascism? Believing that American poor deserve jobs before the poor of Mexico? Believing that socialism is a proven form of tyranny?

The rich in America have in their own way become as ignorant of the consequences of socialism as the poor. The proof that you can vote yourself into wealth is as stupid as the belief that you can pull yourself up by your bootstraps. The idea of hard work has left our vocabulary. Today, everything must be easy.

I am reminded that it was the business leaders of Germany and Italy that installed the socialist governments that led to their downfall. It is time for Republicans to recognize this truth: The rich, especially corporate executives, are our enemies. We must become the party that expels the rich and becomes the party of free enterprise. The rich love socialism in the early stages because it eliminates competition. The only way that a nation stays free is if free enterprise is based on competition. That is not the goal of the rich. They feel much more comfortable with socialism, its elimination of competition and the implementation of bureaucrat oversight.

Why would Republicans, libertarian or conservative, embrace this?

The Stevens Verdict

A proud senator falls victim to his sense of entitlement.

Editorial - October 28th, 2008 - Washington Post

We've had our differences over the years with Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens, but it was difficult not to feel some sadness yesterday when the 84-year-old Republican was convicted of all seven counts of accepting more than $250,000 in gifts from the head of an Alaska oil services company and others and failing to report them on his Senate financial disclosure forms.

How can anyone feel sadness for someone who has displayed such an arrogant sense of entitlement. Transparency in government is an absolute key to the American form of representative Republic. There was a time when those who served government paid for it out of their own pockets, due to love of our nation. Look at the long list of signers of the Declaration of Independence who lost everything to establish freedom in this amazing nation. How can you write an article that claims someone feels entitled and at the same time say you feel sorry for them?

This article seems to me to be more proof that the people who are considered Main Stream Media (MSM) have spent too much time around fellow "progressive traitors" who wish to destroy the liberty and wealth of the greatest nation on earth. They clearly do not understand the anger of those of us who see Bush, Stevens, Rove, Abramoff and Hastert as an insult to everything that we stand for. The MSM is trying to imply this is want conservatives are like. They are not. Good riddance.

My Mother's Birth Certificate
- And Barack's

by Joan Swirsky - October 27th, 2008 - The Bulletin (Philadelphia)

While Mr. Obama's camp submitted a supposedly authentic birth certificate to the far-left blog Daily Kos, it was found to have been a Photoshop-ed version of the birth certificate of his half-sister, who was actually born in Hawaii, as Mr. Obama claims he was.

While this glaring omission in Mr. Obama's eligibility to become the most powerful man on earth mystified some and rankled others, a few people - clearly alarmed at what they considered a stealth candidate's attempt to dance his way around the Constitution and venture into the realm of criminality - took action.

According to the plaintiffs in the lawsuits against him, Mr. Obama was really born in the Coast Provincial General Hospital at Mombassa, Kenya on Aug. 4, 1961, a birth that was documented by a certificate with an embossed seal that displays the name of the hospital, as well as witness signatures. In addition, reports say his grandmother in Kenya, as well as his brother and sister, claim they were present during Mr. Obama's birth in Kenya.

You would think that the MSM, if it wants any claim to responsibility, would have unravelled this ongoing controversy. Yet they haven't.

This is not a trivial issue. Yet after more than a year of this rumor the controversy remains because there has been no resolution. The lack of resolution seems to demand that Barack Obama and his campaign allow for the research to be done in Hawaii and Kenya. Their only response has been to insist that no investigation is needed and to sabotage any attempt to resolve the issue.

After his election, the way Obama treated the TV station in Florida that asked Joe Biden some tough questions will become the "law" of the land. This issue will never be resolved after that occurrence.

Democrats For Despotism

by Mary Anastasia O'Grady - October 27th, 2008 - Wall Street Journal

It took eight years, but on Oct. 8 I finally secured a copy of Fusion Telecommunications' 1999 contract with the Haitian telephone monopoly Teleco. By law the agreement is a public document but Fusion wouldn't give it to me until the FCC required them to do so. Now I think I know why.

Fusion is run by former Democratic Party Finance Chairman Marvin Rosen. It no longer does business in Haiti. But when it did, former congressman Joseph P. Kennedy II, a staunch supporter of former Haitian strongman Jean Bertrand Aristide, was on the board. So too was President Bill Clinton's former aide, Thomas "Mack" McLarty, and former Mississippi Democratic Gov. Ray Mabus. In other words, the Fusion name was synonymous with the Who's Who of the Democratic Party.

Democrats were important to Aristide. President Clinton used the U.S. military to restore him to power in 1994 after he had been deposed in a coup, in part because he was fond of inciting violence against his political opponents. Upon his return in 1994, Aristide resumed his despotic ways. Haitians begged for U.S. help but their pleas fell on deaf ears. In February 2004, Aristide was finally run out of the country.

Probably the most racist action taken by our government in recent years was the despicable act of returning to power this evil dictator. The essence of the act was that this nation of Negroes was unable to decide for itself who should be its elected officials. We put a dictator back in power and then rejected allowing the people of this nation to come to America.

The same Democrats who put Aristide back in power, and who rejected allowing these people to come to America as political refugees, then denounced our nation as racist for their own action of not allowing Haitian people to come here.

Incredible.

America Asks For A King

by Laura Hollis - October 26th, 2008 - Townhall.com

Joe the Plumber’s exposure of Obama’s “spread the wealth” philosophy exploded like a flash fire, not only because that philosophy is utterly anti-American, but because it is shortsighted, and immoral.

[snip]

Obama’s economic and social theories have been debunked and disproven (at great human cost) so many times over the past 100 years that it’s laughable anyone still believes in them.

This is true, yet most Americans no longer believe it. How did the most free nation on earth come to be dominated by people too stupid to recognize the advantages they were given.

The Age Of Prosperity Is Over

by Arthur B. Laffer - October 27th, 2008 - Wall Street Journal

I saw up close and personal Presidents Gerald Ford and George H.W. Bush succumb to panicked decisions to raise taxes, as well as Jimmy Carter's emergency energy plan, which included wellhead price controls, excess profits taxes on oil companies, and gasoline price controls at the pump.

The consequences of these actions were disastrous. Just look at the stock market from the post-Kennedy high in early 1966 to the pre-Reagan low in August of 1982. The average annual real return for U.S. assets compounded annually was -6% per year for 16 years. That, ladies and gentlemen, is a bear market. And it is something that you may well experience again. Yikes!

Then we have this administration's panicked Sarbanes-Oxley legislation, and of course the deer-in-the-headlights Mr. Bernanke in his bungling of monetary policy.

There are many more examples, but none hold a candle to what's happening right now. Twenty-five years down the line, what this administration and Congress have done will be viewed in much the same light as what Herbert Hoover did in the years 1929 through 1932. Whenever people make decisions when they are panicked, the consequences are rarely pretty. We are now witnessing the end of prosperity.

I have repeatedly condemned the socialism of our current President. It pains me that John McCain does not "get it" either. He has correctly expressed the opinion that he is not good with economic issues. In fact, as I have previously reported, he does not get freedom of speech either. McCain thinks that if some people have undue influence because they buy politicians, that justifies turning control over speech to government bureaucrats.

What I like about this article is that Laffer is not truly a politician. He recognizes that government goons harm society whether they are Republican goons or Democrat goons. George Bush, and unfortunately most Republican voters of recent years, did not get this either. Bush has done a few things right, but he has done so many more wrong. I do not agree the current economic crisis is a Republican crisis, but Republican leadership cannot absolve itself.

Republicans have got to get rid of the "compassionate conservative" socialists in our party and return to the Reagan party of free enterprise. Assuming of course that Bush's incompetence has not ended free enterprise and permanently turned our nation over to the Marxist Messiah's socialist future.

Shame, Cubed

by Bill Whittle - October 27th, 2008 - National Review Online

Barack Obama on WBEZ radio in 2001

You know, if you look at the victories and failures of the civil-rights movement, and its litigation strategy in the court, I think where it succeeded was to vest formal rights in previously dispossessed peoples. So that I would now have the right to vote, I would now be able to sit at a lunch counter and order and as long as I could pay for it, I’d be okay, but the Supreme Court never entered into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and sort of more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society.

And uh, to that extent, as radical as I think people tried to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution — at least as it’s been interpreted, and Warren Court interpreted it in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties: says what the states can’t do to you, says what the federal government can’t do to you, but it doesn’t say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalf.

And that hasn’t shifted, and one of the, I think, the tragedies of the civil-rights movement was because the civil-rights movement became so court-focused, uh, I think that there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change.

Nothing has changed in Barack Obama's philosophy from this fairly recent expression of his goals. He said as much to "Joe the Plumber" during the campaign. He is a Marxist who has aligned himself with Marxist goals all of his life. From his childhood mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, to has racist mentor Jeremiah Wright, to his socialist mentor, William Ayers, Barack Obama has been groomed to be the Marxist Messiah and accomplish here in America the "redistribution of wealth" that destroyed the culture and economy of the Soviet Union. It will destroy America too.

This article starts with new proof that those of us who have been reviled for criticizing Obama as a Marxist were right, and continues on to appropriate condemnation of the Marxist press ... which has lied and covered up every screw up Obama has ever made.

There ARE three multiplied reasons to revile what is happening in our nation, just starting with the savage treatment of Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber. If the American people buy this idiocy they will deserve the tyranny they will reap. It is Shame, Cubed.

The Cult Of The Marxist Messiah

by Alex LaBrecque - October 26, 2008 - Canda Free Press

When discussing his alliances, his agenda, and his “faith,” subterfuge is Obama’s dominant trait. Surely then, it was with unintended candor he disclosed the nature of his interest in Christian verbiage. Openly identifying himself with skeptics of the secular Left, in The Audacity of Hope Obama wrote that “we make a mistake when we fail to acknowledge the power of faith in the lives of the American people.” “When we abandon the field of religious discourse . . . when we discuss religion only in the negative sense of where or how it should not be practiced . . . when we shy away from religious venues and broadcasts because we assume that we will be unwelcome — others [from the Christian Right] will fill the vacuum.”

This is an important article that everyone needs to read in its entirety. America is being deluded by one of the great con artists of all time. The Marxist Messiah must be feared.

Washington Is The Problem

by Stephen Moore - October 26th, 2008 - Wall Street journal

[Fred Smith] attributes the financial crisis to "the intersection of four long-term developments." Reckless mortgage lending policies; high energy prices; mark-to-market accounting rules; and national policies that favor what he calls "the financial sector over the industrial sector."

We have a serious problem in our view of capitalism here in America. Fred Smith has defined the problem with this comment; he refers to the "financial sector" and the "industrial sector". However neither the MSM or Wall Street ever uses these terms ... nor in any way ever differentiates between Wall Street (the financial sector), Work Street (the industrial sector) and Trade Street (the distribution sector).

Almost all of the evils practiced in the name of capitalism are practiced by the denizens of Wall Street. The "securitization" of mortgages, a repeatedly failed scam that has never worked, is one major cause of the current economic crisis. This idiocy was not the brainchild of someone on Work Street or Trade Street, but was the specific invention of con artists on Wall Street. They have made a fortune on the practice while leaving millions of Americans with bankrupt 401k plans as their savings have been decimated.

Wall Street vigorously rejects the separation of capitalism into these three different areas, since their profits rarely involve funding the productive creation of wealth (the only role that justifies their existence). Instead Wall Street usually profits from manipulation of wealth, destruction of wealth or reducing competition to maximize profits.

Not one of these three goals serves society. As a result, Wall Street is actually a huge fraud. Business supporters who believe in the societal benefits of capitalism need to start to differentiate between Wall Street and Work Street. Wall Street is only of value when it puts together capital to create new businesses. When it works for mergers and acquisitions, it frequently sabotages free enterprise in the process. We need to stop allowing Wall Street to deceive us.

Work Street and Trade Street are what make free enterprise great. Wall Street is needed, but is frequently a scam. Government rules need to make sure that Wall Street fills its role in funding the creation of wealth. They should punish the manipulation of stocks and bonds for the greed of Wall Street con artists.

The title of this article is "Washington is the problem" but what the writer meant is that "Government is the problem". It is the problem because it is controlled by Wall Street.

Palin And The Elitists

Editorial - October 24, 2008 - Investor's Business Daily

New York Times columnist David Brooks declared Palin "a cancer," and Washington Post writer Kathleen Parker called her "clearly out of her league." National Review's Christopher Buckley called Palin "an embarrassment, and a dangerous one at that." Wall Street Journal's Peggy Noonan sighed "there is little sign that she has the tools, the equipment, the knowledge or the philosophical grounding one hopes for, and expects, in a holder of high office." Slate's Christopher Hitchens summed it up: "Palin is simply a disgrace."

What does one make of such negativity from people whose work has otherwise been good? They all seem to no longer connect to either the heartland or a new kind of leader who didn't make her way up through elite colleges or through a husband's or father's connections. Maybe that's too hard to absorb for those who inhabit the stratified, elitist political ecosystems of New York and Washington.

I am a Palin defender, but some of her supporters are themselves so lukewarm as to be useless.

The one Palin defender (if only moderately on her side) I am most angry at is Jonah Goldberg. He has remained a defender of Bush even when Bush has vastly expanded the scope and power of government. At no point has he stopped being an objective (in his mind), above the fray, defender of Bush, even when Bush has been incompetent at his most important duty (explaining to the American people why we are at war). Now he is "defending" Palin, but in such a way as to be essentially useless.

In his role as "peacemaker" above the fray, only a week ago Goldberg was defending Palin's attackers, even as he disagreed with them. His position was summed up in the ludicrous, "Cant we all just get along" posting. In it he was hypothetically asking those who disagreed with the Palin attackers to ingore the attacks until after the election. The reason that we are going down in flames is that there is a political war being fought by extreme liberals and we are not fighting. Jonah Goldberg wants to be reasonable and convince Republicans that slowing down the inexorable move to socialism, the way Bush is doing it, and the fellow travellers who promote this as the Republican way, should be welcome to continue their attacks on other Republicans like Palin. Be nice in response seems to be his mantra.

I reject nice. I reject that becoming a socialist nation slowly is a better solution than the Obama surge to tyranny. I reject that rational dialog with Republican elitists is better than outright war with them as well. The left is waging war. It is time that we Republicans decided what we are, evict those who do not agree from our party and wage war for our view of a free and prosperous future.

We are NOT waging war right now. We currently practice the Jonah Goldberg program of let's declare defeat by getting along with our enemies and always be nice now. I reject that as surrender without fighting. I want a fight.

Goldberg is no better than our enemies.

Obama Nears The "Now What?" Moment

by Mark Steyn - October 24th, 2008 - Orange County Register

I agree with Thomas Sowell that an Obama-Pelosi supermajority will mark what he calls "a point of no return."

It would not be, as some naysayers scoff, "Jimmy Carter's second term," but something far more transformative. The new president would front the fourth great wave of liberal annexation – the first being FDR's New Deal, the second LBJ's Great Society, and the third the incremental but remorseless cultural advance when Reagan conservatives began winning victories at the ballot box and liberals turned their attention to the other levers of the society, from grade school up.

The terrorist educator William Ayers, Obama's patron in Chicago, is an exemplar of that most-recent model: 40 years ago, he was in favor of blowing up public buildings; then he figured out it was easier to get inside and undermine them from within.

That is where we stand today. We have endured two generations of brainwashing of our youth because those who opposed the politicizing of our schools could not get the attention of parents. The majority of our children have bought into the concept that government can give them everything that they want. All you do is just vote for it. They also have bought into the concept that they owe nothing to the future.

A nephew recently got married and bragged to the world that he and his wife had no intention of having children. They support Obama. They are in fact the poster children for the arrogant, utopia is what I want today, take what I want from the "rich", me-me-me generation that is advocating the election of a man who hates them. They hate America and believe mankind is the greatest evil on earth. As long as Obama hates America, he is their man.

Barack Obama is a racist and sees all whites as his enemies. Yet he is so duplicitous that he can get whites who are greedy and hate America to vote for him since they cannot see what a con-artist he is.

Steyn writes this article asking those who have not bought in to the socialist agenda to vote against Obama. I wonder if there are enough Americans left who can see through this "vote for what you want" tyranny.

Ayers may already have won.

Obamanomics

by Amil Imani - October 25th, 20080 - Amiercan Thinker

Obama's economic plan is a recipe for long-lasting disaster. Keep in mind that wrecking anything, as opposed to building things, requires very little time and effort. Obama's plan is deceptively attractive, while in reality it is a huge wrecking ball that will capsize the already listing ship of our economy.

[snip]

Society after society has tried and failed the economic solution of "spreading the wealth around." It doesn't work. All it does is discourage hard work and reward sloth. It is suicidal to buy into that failed policy, and that's exactly where Obama aims to take us.

In reality the ease of destruction is the problem with all of the three movements that are attacking America. Envy or greed drive Islamo-fascism, Azlantism and Socialism. All three are anti-American movements that target our nation as the source of power denying their adherents the "rightful" power they feel they deserve, in their minds. All three want to tear us down with little thought for the consequence.

Obama is the front man for the global socialist movement that dreams of a utopia based on Marx's "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need."

The real fear is not just what Obama wants, but that Obama has come along when we have these other two movements also determined to destroy America at the same time. Obama is indifferent to the other two movements because he does not fear losing America as a light to the world. The strength of America is its meritocracy based adoption of free enterprise to empower individual freedom. We are the engine of the world. Obama clearly is deluded into thinking that if he changes America to a socialist system that these other two movements will leave us, and him, alone.

Many of the overly socialist nations of the world are able to get away with it because the free enterprise engine of America hides the consequences of their actions and allows them to sell enough product from state enterprises to keep from going under, just because we give them trade preferences. When America is going down, those trade preferences will end.

The Aztlantism dream of taking away the southwestern U.S. as a huge economic engine of a Hispanic dominated Mexico will also die as the economy of America is destroyed.

The economic power that Islamo-fascists dream of is also dependent on the economic engine of America to drive the need for oil all over the world. As America weakens, the wealth of the middle east dies as well, and thus the Islamo-fascism dream of world domination, ultimately based on oil goes away.

The consequence is that weakening America weakens the world. There is going to be disaster for all as Obama takes over. Nothing is static. As these power shifts occur, the destruction of the current world wide prosperity will lead, as it always does, to catastrophic wars. Wars rarely happen in good times. They happen when people squabble over dwindling wealth.

Betrayal And Its Consequences

This is a compilation of various things in the news that you will not hear on the MSM, but which Americans should hear ... if you want America to remain free.

All these issues point to the reality that our nation is being betrayed by people who choose not to care about a pattern of stealth to install a Marxist dominated government in our nation, the goal of which is to subvert our American free enterprise system and end individual freedom in the goal of "equal results".

The first issue people need to be aware of is the difference between guilt by association and guilt by alliance. Barack Obama has a lifetime of alliances with people who hate America and our free enterprise system. They include childhood mentor Frank Marshall Davis - communist, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn - Marxists, adult mentor Jeremiah Wright - racist and Marxist, Tony Rezko - slumlord and patron ... but the list goes on to include a great number of other people, all of whom are extreme leftists.

The fact that America no longer cares about such anti-American allies is frightening. Obama did not just meet with these people. He actively sought out their support and provided government handouts to most of them to repay the support. These handouts total millions of dollars and decry the attempt to portray the relationships as marginal. Bill Ayers is not just a man in the neighborhood. He is the recipient of Obama requested pork spending going directly to Ayers exceeding hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Barack Obama supporters have been told by Obama to aggressively "get in the face" of anyone who dares disagree with him. The consequence of this aggressiveness is Obama supporters intimidating any who have McCain bumper stickers.
However this will get worse under an Obama Presidency. Just as Hitler denied responsibility for the excesses of his overly enthusiastic supporters, Obama has already shown he will not connect the dots between his exhortations to "get in the face" of those who are not supporters and the intimidation that is starting to result. Fear is becoming the standard tactic of Obama and his minions. Yet most supporters of Obama ignore this and act like it is not happening, just as most Nazis pretended the excesses of Hitler youth did not matter in their day. The belief that intimidation is okay is a serious problem. There is one Barack Obama supporter who still insists that Sarah Palin is not the mother of her baby boy and has a web site claiming to prove it is a lie. In fact there are hundreds of web sites that continue to smear Palin with outrageous lies, despite the fact that they have all been refuted. The problem is escalating in this election due to the arrogance of Barack Obama and his "get in the face" attitude.

Millions of dollars of illegal campaign contributions are flowing into the Barack Obama campaign due to intentional fraud by Obama. The
articles documenting this and explaining how Obama rigged this fraud are being ignored by the MSM. What it comes down to is the reality that no one can tell where Obama's huge contributions are coming from. In the most recent month, $150 million flowed in to his campaign, already bloated by the contributions from his broken promise to use public financing. An overwhelming percentage are small donations on credit cards with NO documentation about who the contributor is (the process of how is explained here). Obama is intentionally hiding the truth which will not be well known until after the campaign is over and it is too late. With the number of rich overseas enemies of our nation who have expressed open support for the Marxist Obama, it is idiocy to think that a major element in these huge donations is not the enemies of our nation.

The Obama campaign has an active program of using lawsuits to intimidate opponents. This has become so prevalent that the Governor of one state has finally taken a stand to oppose it, calling it
"police state" tactics.

Obama is often portrayed as a post-racial bipartisan conciliator, however he is more accurately described, as he does himself in his own biography, as a black racial activist. Why is it that so many ignore Obama's own
characterization of his goals? Obama, far from getting past race, will make race the dominant issue of federal government interference in local affairs.

A truly frightening aspect of this intervention is the Obama stated goal of creating a federal civil police force, to bypass local and state officials in criminal investigation and enforcement. This desired
police state force is ignored by our MSM, and even many others. The argument is that no one thinks that Obama could ever get it passed. However the fact Obama thinks this is the right solution means he could use the ATF, DEA, FBI, Secret Service, U.S. Attorney investigators and various other enforcement agencies that already exist within the federal bureaucracy to abuse individual freedom on a scale never before seen. I am astonished at how few find egregious the practice of pursuing criminal charges against bank lending officers for the crime of not meeting quota goals established by HUD for minority loans back in the 90s. How much abuse of power is needed before Americans start to be outraged?

Class Captives Learn To Write For Their Audience

by Andrew Bolt - October 24th, 2008 - Herald Sun

... a very honest boy, tells me he was asked on Tuesday to give a summary on global warming.

Naturally, he included one plain fact: the planet hadn't warmed since 1998, according to satellite measurements.

Check with Britain's Hadley Centre. Or with Dr Roy Spencer, US head of the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer on NASA's Aqua satellite.

No, no, no, said the teacher, brought in by the school to give a few lessons on learning techniques. You mustn't believe such a thing.

Think this is not happening in our schools? Barack Obama ran the Chicago Annenberg Challenge which gave money to his ally Bill Ayers to promote the concept of liberal brainwashing of our kids. Now we are told that the money Barack Obama gave was not really his actions. He was just Chairman of an organization which gave Ayers this money without Obama's knowledge. And anyway, what harm is there in creating an attitude that "radical teaching" is not a good idea?

Our schools are being politicized by a global movement funded by liberal leaders of institutions which solicit government grants to brainwash our kids. Obama helped to teach this Alinsky method to ACORN. Yet now he insists ACORN is just a group that wants better things for your kids.

We may be too late. The brainwashing of our kids has been going on so long, government of the people, by the people, for the people may well become government of the followers, by the dictators, for the socialists. That is not the same.

Marx Exhumed, Capitalism Buried

by John Huxley - October 23rd, 2008 - Sydney Morning Herald

Maybe, as the international financier George Soros wrote, "The main enemy of the open society, I believe, is no longer the communist but the capitalist threat." But if Marx is truly a man of our times, our straitened times, it owes as much to his account of capital-city poverty than his analysis of capitalist economy.

Here, for example, Marx writes from the cramped, upstairs rooms of the hovel in Dean Street, Soho, London, which he and his family occupied in the early 1850s. Harassed by debt collectors, plagued by carbuncles, pursued by secret police, he pens a begging letter to Friedrich Engels, a lifelong friend, financial supporter and cotton-industry capitalist. "I am unable to go out for want of the coats I have in pawn, and can no longer eat meat for want of credit," he complains. "My wife is ill. Little Jenny is ill. Lenchen has some sort of nervous fever. I could not and cannot call the doctor because I have no money to buy medicine. For the past eight to 10 days I have been feeding the family solely on bread and potatoes."

For much more about a towering man whose writing was, not surprisingly over several decades, contradictory, incomprehensible, virtually unreadable and even simply wrong, try Francis Wheen's excellent biography, Karl Marx.

It is hard to forget the simpistic appeal of Karl Marx, considering the intellectual pretensions his advocates employ. What you find is that few people who create value in the world are Marx fans. Most are like George Soros, people who are not capitalists at all. Capitalism is ultimately about creating wealth. Soros made his money manipulating markets, not creating wealth. To listen to him about capitalism is like listening to a salesman talk about cars. He may know some things about cars, but he could never build one.

That is the fear I have of Barack Obama as President of America. Putting him in charge is a frightening prospect for the next generation because someone is going to have to create the products that drive our ecomony. Our nation is built on creators and doers, not talkers. Yet all that Obama can do is talk. He is a car salesman peddling an image of a vehicle that he really has little idea how to actually create.

Paying Teachers To Teach

by Jeb Bush - October 23rd, 2008 - Washington Times

Study after study shows the quality of teaching is paramount to student achievement. Next to parents, teachers are the most important factors in determining a student's academic success. Yet, instead of rewarding our best teachers and removing the poor ones, we cling to an antiquated, bureaucratic compensation model that is flawed at its core.

Most teachers are paid based on their level of education and tenure. However, history proves that rewarding teachers for the number of years in the system rather than the effectiveness in the classroom actually diminishes the quality of education. Many successful teachers leave the system because their paychecks don't reflect their hard work. Poor teachers, on the other hand, often remain in the classroom, ensconced in a system under the protection of a union that cares more about workers' rights than student achievement.

As a result, and despite spending more per student than our competitors, our students and schools have fallen behind their peers across the globe - and will continue to fall unless we reverse course.

This is only going to change when more parents start to realize that their children's future is being sold out in favor of fat salaries for highly paid education union officers and central administration educrats who don't teach, but simply "think" about teaching.

A key element in changing this is to get through to parents that it is not a matter of money. We spend more than enough money. We simply spend it in the most stupid and incompetent manner so the results ... and our children ... are what suffer. Only when we can get people to start worrying about the waste, misdirection and corruption of the current politicized school system is anything going to change.

The Consequences Of Defeat

by Michael Medved - October 22nd, 2008 - Townhall.com

Despite the fact that leading polls continue to indicate a close Presidential election, and point to the very real chance of an upset victory for the McCain-Palin ticket, too many conservatives have begun to embrace a bizarre form of defeatism. According to this destructive logic, a Republican defeat in 2008 counts as not only inevitable, but necessary; some disgruntled voices on the right argue that a decisive win for Barack Obama might actually help the conservative cause in the long run.

I must say that I talk with a great number of conservatives, and the only ones who are talking this way are the hard core, mostly Ron Paul intransigent types, who have already abandoned the Republican Party. Most of the other conservatives I know are redoubling their efforts to assure a McCain-Palin victory if at all possible.

And there is reason to hope.

I don't think anyone knows the exact number, but just as in the last election, there are a large number of conservatives who avoid pollsters. It is thus true that the polls are wrong in favor of Obama by about 3% points. The polling companies always talk about the margin of error. It is amusing that margin always goes in favor of the liberal and the excuse afterwards is simply there was no bias, it was just margin of error. However the bias is real and always there and we can count on it.

Also there really is a bias in the polls in favor of being black. It is explained again and again by liberal media that the cause is racism. I don't believe this is the major problem. It is simply a reaction to the knee jerk insult of being called racist no matter what if you don't support the black candidate. So approximately 4% of the population will say they are supporting the black candidate even when they don't like the candidate for some other reason. With the extreme radical Marxism of Barack Obama, I don't think this "Bradley" effect is going to be less than the usual 4%.

That means that the current 9% advantage of Obama among voters who will state which way they are leaning is closer than it looks.

However that still indicates a probable Obama victory, unless something can be done to overcome the Bush damage from the "Depression Crisis" that he conjured up to prove he is still "relevant". McCain had almost closed the gap until Bush had to prove once again he is a tone deaf imbecile in how to handle communication about any crisis. In this particular case, Bush managed to convince America that a Democrat created problem was caused by Republicans, and then he did nothing to counter the MSM as they pounded the theme home that Republicans caused the crisis. How can Bush be that incompetent? I cannot believe anyone with half a brain could have gotten this result unless it was intentional. I believe it likely that Bush botched this crisis to make sure that John McCain did not follow him as President. Such a childish petulant move is one reason that as many Republicans despise and revile Bush as there are Democrats who despise and revile Bush.

This article by Medved has some good historical data that every Republican should review. It suggests that Republicans will have to struggle really hard in coming years to recover from the big government liberal agenda of George Bush being labeled a radical right wing agenda, and most people believing Republicans embrace this liberalism. It is truly ironic that the most liberal Republican President ever is viewed as the most conservative President ever by most Americans. As a result, big government is more acceptable than ever, even as people reject the Republican Party as too extremely right wing. Even many Republicans see big government solutions as okay thanks to Bush. Nevertheless we are viewed as more corrupt, more supportive of Wall Street greed than free enterprise, indifferent to the poor, hostile to public education and hated by the world at large. We are only grudgingly considered to be slightly better on national defense.

George Bush took over a Republican Party that was admired on most of these same issues and is going to leave offfice with the Republican Party in shambles. Both internal dissension and external hatred will have to be dealt with to recover from the disaster Bush has left. This is true whether MCain-Palin wins or loses.

If Obama wins, it is likely that the tyranny of socialism will become irreversible and Republican support for free enterprise will be ended if not useless. The Department of Education put in by Carter is still destroying our schools and Carter's Department of Energy has presided over the most disastrous energy policy of any nation in history, yet both are impervious to being dismantled. The Nazi like civil police force Obama has promised ("equal to the military" in Obama's words), universal health care, national pre-school and environmentally extreme carbon-credit trading will become embedded in our national institutions with an Obama victory.

This is the third time in recent history that I have felt compelled to refer to the poem of Pastor Martin Niemöller as our likely future.

When the Nazis came for the communists, I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats, I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists, I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews, I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

It is my prediction that 20 years after an Obama victory, the major feeling of those living in the resulting tyranny in America, will be anger that, like the Germans, they could not see it coming.

Would the Last Honest Reporter
Please Turn On the Lights?

by Orson Scott Card - October 22nd, 2008 - The Rhinoceros Times

These are facts. This financial crisis was completely preventable. The party that blocked any attempt to prevent it was ... the Democratic Party. The party that tried to prevent it was ... the Republican Party.

Yet when Nancy Pelosi accused the Bush administration and Republican deregulation of causing the crisis, you in the press did not hold her to account for her lie. Instead, you criticized Republicans who took offense at this lie and refused to vote for the bailout!

What is scariest about this is the result. Obama and the Democrats who caused the crisis are being rewarded by increased support due to the contemptible efforts of the Main Stream Media to blame Republicans for this Democrat caused crisis.

The only person with the megaphone that could have changed this outcome was our President, but he has repeatedly proved he does not have a clue how to communicate.

This is a great article that sums up the economic crisis in rational fashion, and lays the blame where it belongs, on a corrupt news media that is so blatantly socialist that it can do nothing except pander to the socialist goals of Barack Obama and the socialist party, called Democrats.

Obama Moves To Silence
All ACORN Critics

by Matthew Vadum - October 22, 2008 - Canada Free Press

Want a preview of what an Obama Department of Justice would look like? Look no further than Obama for America general counsel Bob Bauer’s letter to Attorney General Michael Mukasey last Friday. Bauer wants the special prosecutor investigating the U.S. attorney firings to start investigating John McCain, Sarah Palin and other Republicans such as Sen. George Voinovich (R-OH) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI). Their crime? Calling on our nation’s law enforcement officers to investigate widespread reports of vote fraud.

[snip]

The Obama campaign’s Stalinist-style demand that a special prosecutor at the Department of Justice criminally prosecute any candidates, party officials or congressmen who discussed their concerns over voter fraud is an outrageous attempt to use the power of the federal government to intimidate and persecute political opponents. It is almost as if Senator Obama wants to reinstitute the Alien and Sedition Acts and it brings into sharp focus the issue of whether he understands the protections of the First Amendment and the importance of fair and secure elections.

It is interesting how few seemed upset to learn that during the 90s Janet Reno's justice department threatened prosecution of any home lending officers who dared oppose the politically desired lending of the Democrat Party to unqualified buyers. That practice was evil and lead directly to the current economic crisis our nation is experiencing. The power of the federal government was used to intimidate private citizens, but the MSM never reported any of the abuse. No one cared because lending officers were not "popular".

At the time the MSM was focused on what they considered to be the greater evil, the Republican Party impeachment of Bill Clinton because he could not "keep it in his pants".

We are about to see this same evil recreated, as the above article points out. The move by Obama is totally consistent with the Saul Alinsky method of stealth abuse of power to gain totalitarian control of our nation. 40 years of politicized dominance of our schools has resulted in a populace that is amenable to manipulation by Marxists like Barack Obama and the people he will be appointing to positions of power.

Janet Reno is despised by many for the illegal actions she took while Attorney General. However her actions will be considered trivial by the time Barack Obama is finished. Like the poem about the abuse of power under the socialism based Third Reich, early moves will always be carefully aimed at the unpopular, and by the time power is entrenched, it will be too late to resist. Freedom will be gone, thrown away by a populace too stupid to understand what they have lost.

Daily Kos And Other Lefties Will No Longer Call Powell 'Uncle Tom'

by Kerry Picket - October 20th, 2008 - Newsbusters

When a black republican like General Colin Powell endorses a major liberal figure like Barack Obama, it is amazing to see racial vitriol stop at a lefty website like Daily Kos:
Powell didn't just decimate the McCain campaign rationale, however. Powell also offered up an endorsement of Barack Obama in the strongest possible terms, saying that Obama would be an "exceptional president" and that he had the capacity to be "transformational."

How sweet of Daily Kos. Back in April of 2004 Daily Kos's love did not extend at all for General Powell. In fact, it was downright nasty:
Uncle Tom Powell Stumps for Massah Bush

Yes suh! Yes suh! Right away suh!

Mr. Powell sir, you are a liar and an apologist for a crooked regime known as the George W. Bush administration.

Something of a different tone. Then again that is exactly what the left wing Marxists always do. The rules for them are always different than the rules for their opponents. The savage vitriol against Sarah Palin and John McCain is ignored while true statements about Barack Obama are labelled as "outrageous lies" and "personal smears".

The reality is that the global socialist movement is anti-American and has practiced a stealth invasion for 40 years. Unfortunately too many Americans have become anti-American themselves after 40 years of brain-washing in our public schools, the first target of this stealth.

The Last Two Years

By Randall Hoven - October 19th, 2008 - American Thinker

In December 2006, after six years of [Republican rule] and the last month before the Democrats took over both houses of the national legislature, a snapshot of our economy looked like this.

* Unemployment stood at 4.4%.

* Real GDP growth over the previous four years (under a Republican President, House and Senate) averaged 3% per year.

*A gallon of regular gasoline cost $2.30.

* The S&P 500 stock index stood at 1418, or 84% above its post-911 low and more than 7% higher than when [Republicans] took office.

* Every year of [Republican rule], real (inflation-adjusted) disposable income per person went up. By the end of 2006, the average person was making 9% more in real terms than before [Republicans took over].

In the last two years the economy has gone to hell, directly as a result of the stupid actions of Democrat passed legislation. Contrary to the MSM it is not the result of deregulation. It is stupid regulation. Democrats passed Sarbanes-Oxley and insisted on the ignorant mark-to-market accounting rules which, driven by the Democrat's CRA caused destruction of home prices, bankrupted our largest lending institutions.

I posted this just to make an historical record for the future evaluation of Democrat dominance which everyone says is about to happen. The starting point for evaluation will be 2006 since that is when Democrats took most power. Everything must be measured from that point.

Unions Shortchange Teachers

by Larry Sand - October 18th, 2008 - Los Angeles Times

In 28 states, a teacher is essentially forced to join a costly union. A typical teacher in Southern California, where I teach, pays $922 every year to his or her local, which then sends $611 of that amount to the state affiliate, the California Teachers Assn., or CTA, and $140 to the national affiliate, the National Education Assn., or NEA. (One has to wonder, if the unions are so beneficial, why do teachers need to be forced to join and to fork over such hefty dues in most states?)

And just what are all of these forced dues spent on? Untold millions go to political causes, whether a teacher agrees with the cause or not. According to Reg Weaver, the recently retired NEA president, his union's rank-and-file teachers are about one-third Democrat, one-third Republican and one-third independent. Yet more than 90% of NEA political spending goes to Democratic causes, according to OpenSecrets.org. Thus, if you are a Republican and have conservative values, your dues are being used to support causes and candidates you oppose.

In August, just before relinquishing his position, Weaver spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Denver. Although it was not surprising that he expressed support for Barack Obama, he made an egregious statement at the end of his speech. After extolling the virtues of his candidate, Weaver said, "That, my friends, is why the 3.2 million members of the National Education Assn. are organized, energized and mobilized to help elect Barack Obama as the next president of the United States of America."

We have the most politicized education system in the world. Education Unions [only the most ignorant would call them "teacher" unions] require forced unionization to exist. They also require forced support, both in political causes and in the classroom, for the evil tyranny of socialism. The 40 year disaster that our education system has practiced, failing our children in providing an education, is a direct result of this politicized environment.

The fourty year failure of parents to protest this political brainwashing of our children has resulted in the least prepared generations since the formation of our nation, totally unprepared to practice government of the people, by the people and for the people.

Unless and until parents rise up in protest, our children will enter the world prepared only to register for welfare payments and to sit helplessly dependent on government bureaucrats to provide them with inadequate lives, while these same recipients feel entitled to middle class compensation at government expense as a right. No nation can provide a middle class living to people who don't work. No nation has ever been able to do this and no matter how much it is demanded as a "right", the economics will never support being able to do so.

The idiocy of the welfare state demanded by socialists is a Utopian dream that can never exist in the real world.

Paul Krugman’s Great Unraveling

by Jacob Laksin - October 17th, 2008 - Front Page Magazine

With the election of President Bush, Krugman lost any sense of broader perspective and abandoned any pretense to considered analysis. His Times columns became bitter screeds against the Bush administration’s “hard right turn,” “America's radical right right-wing media,” and the right generally. “Yes, Virginia,” Krugman insisted, in all apparent seriousness, “there is a right-wing conspiracy.”

Krugman reveled in his new role as a scourge of the right. “If I have ended up more often than not writing pieces that attack the right wing, it's because the right wing now rules— and rules badly,” he declared.

Ironically, it is the right wing press that is too often in the tank for supposedly "conservative" policies that are anything but. I argue continuously that "Wall Street" is not the friend of capitalism or free enterprise that it should be.

The rational argument for capitalism is the results it provides during the period when it works. Products cost least and are of the highest quality when there is open and free competition to provide them for society. That significant advantage of capitalism has huge rewards for society in making the resulting overall community wealthy due to the hard work it entails to meet the needs of the people. It is the justification of efficiency that economists usually tout for capitalism. It creates wealth.

However there is a real recognition that capitalism can lead to a monopoly, or even an oligopoly situation that can legally pretend competition while in actuality accepting a static market, which exacts unfair profits from the people. Capitalism loses all its claims of being a superior system when either situation comes to pass. Any system of government that wants to provide the benefits of capitalism over time must end both illegally created monopolies as well as total dominance by superior competition. The government process should assure rules that protect the formation of competition against powerful monopolies and oligopolies.

In America we mostly ignore monopolies and oligopolies that have arisen legally. Noting that reality, Wall Street has long since abandoned its hypothetical function of arranging capital for new ventures to compete in the marketplace, and has dedicated itself to mergers and acquisitions to eliminate competition by the creation of legal monopolies and oligopolies.

We thus have come to tolerate two powerful forces in America against capitalism in America. Government socialism of the Barack Obama dominated Democrat Party variety ... and corporate socialism of the Karl Rove dominated Republican variety.

It is the people who believe in free enterprise, the small business people of American, the actual practitioners of capitalism, who have no party they can call their own any more. It is not just imperative that the Republican Party repudiate the wall street wing of corporate socialism; it is imperative that such repudiation be so overwhelmingly well known that the average voter stops thinking that Republicans embrace Wall Street at all.

There is no practical difference in its result on loss of freedom between the government socialism of Obama and the corporate socialism of Rove. They are both evil beyond imagining.

I wonder whether the rage at Republicans by Krugman started with frustration over the duplicitous result of corporate socialism that Republican leadership has provided. It is at least arguable that the government socialism advocated by Democrats is less deceitful.

... to Senator John McCain about Climate Science ...

Open letter from The Viscount Monckton of Brenchley to Senator John McCain about Climate Science and Policy.

by The Viscount Monckton of Brenchley - October 18th, 2008 - The American Thinker

If the United States, by the ignorance and carelessness of her classe politique, mesmerized by the climate bugaboo, casts away the vigorous and yet benign economic hegemony that she has exercised almost since the Founding Fathers first breathed life into her enduring Constitution, it will not be a gentle, tolerant, all-embracing, radically-democratic nation that takes up the leadership of the world.

It will be a radically-tyrannical dictatorship - perhaps the brutal gerontocracy of Communist China, or the ruthless plutocracy of supposedly ex-Communist Russia, or the crude, mediaeval theocracy of rampant Islam, or even the contemptible, fumbling, sclerotic, atheistic-humanist bureaucracy of the emerging European oligarchy that has stealthily stolen away the once-paradigmatic democracy of our Mother of Parliaments from elected hands here to unelected hands elsewhere. For government of the people, by the people and for the people is still a rarity today, and it may yet perish from the earth if America, its exemplar, destroys herself in the specious name of "Saving The Planet".

This article is an excellent summation of the truth about "global warming". It is truly sad that neither the Magic Marxist or John McCain seem to have a clue about this serious problem. Forget the fact that Bill Ayers and Barack Obama are allies against American free enterprise. The Luddite idiocy of the environmental extremists is the most serious threat to the quality of life and the future existence of our great nation.

That McCain at least has Sarah Palin to argue practical science is the single strongest recommendation of his candicay. We must assure that Obama and the Democrats do not control our nation while this idocy still prevails among so many of the fools we send to Washington.

Republican Party Killed Reagan Era

by Michael Reagan - October 17, 2008 - Newsmax.com

The end of the Reagan era was brought to us by the Republican Party, which had thrived under his leadership and is now in danger of becoming a minor player in the nation's politics and a spectator at the birth of a socialist America doomed to follow the path to ruin of every failed state [which] has embraced the Marxist creed.

Damn you George W. Bush and Karl Rove for selling Republicans on the socialist big government, big spending agenda you called "compassionate conservatism". Damn you Dennis Hastert and Jack Abramoff for corrupting the weak representatives that we sent to Washington by our votes and thereby spending our tax dollars like they were leaves on trees. The combination of these two forces, socialism and corruption, has left us unable at a critical time to stop the sudden turn to the left by what today can only honestly be called the Marxist Party of Democrats. Republicans are justifiably reviled.

We are currently at war with three forces in the world. Islamo-fascism, Hispanic invasion and global socialism. All three forces hate America due to envy and greed. Many among us have warned for years of the growing consequences of these wars, but most Americans, even most Republicans, just would not listen. They were dismissed as prophets of doom. We were way too busy having fun to believe that evil forces of darkness were gathering to destroy what our forefathers built in this great land. Democrats have aligned with all three forces and embraced their attacks on America as justified.

I have argued for 10 years that the legacy of Ronald Reagan was not being respected. The election on November 5th looks like the death knell of Reagan's legacy, the Republican Party, and individual freedom in America. It leaves me empty and angry. If the Republican Party does not return to its Reagan Revolution, we don't just lose our Party, we lose our nation.

The Left Declares War On
Joe the Plumber

by Michelle Malkin - October 17th, 2008 - Creator's Syndicate

Obama-Biden simply can't tolerate an outspoken citizen successfully painting the Democratic ticket as socialist overlords. And so a dirty, desperate war against Joe Wurzelbacher is on.

The left's political plumbers are attacking the messenger, rummaging through his personal life and predictably wielding the race card once again. It's standard operating procedure for the Obama thug machine.

The bottom line is Michelle's quote, "If you can't beat him, smear him. It's the Obama way."

It is not just Obama's way. It is standard operating practice of all liberals and Marxists. Barack Obama taught the Saul Alinsky method of war by stealth when he worked for ACORN. However that does not alter the fact that liberals and Marxists see this as war and will attack ANYONE who stands in their way.

The left has smeared Goldwater, Nixon, Reagan, Bush Sr., Gingrich, Bush Jr. and is now smearing Palin, and even McCain. The expectation that they would not smear an American who dared to express dissent from their war against the middle class is a delusion. Just as the idiocy of believing their economic war is reserved just for the rich. Their war is against anyone who thinks a nation should reward people for hard work.

Free enterprise is about the creation of wealth. Socialism and Marxism are about the redistribution of wealth. Barack Obama is opposed to anyone working hard and getting ahead. He demands that you wait for government to hand you what government thinks you deserve.

That this smear machine would start smearing a regular citizen who is working to get ahead tells you everything you need to know about the evil of Barack Obama and his socialist allies.

A Messiah Manufactured by Marxism

by Judi McLeod - October 16th, 2008 - Canada Free Press

“The public record is our only proof,” says former Naval Intelligence Officer Marion Valentine. “In 1963, while serving in Navy Intelligence (1958-1967), I read the FBI file on Frank Marshall Davis. He had outlined the Communist plan to take over America from within, by installing educators at all levels of our educational system, gaining control of the media, getting Liberal judges appointed, recruiting, training and backing people to be elected to public office.

No matter how many times I mention in my political speeches that we are in 3 wars, including one against global socialism, most Americans just don't "get it". The majority of our current population has been brain washed. And most of the rest are the parents who let it happen.

I am reminded of the moral struggle of Abraham Lincoln, who loved America and the individual freedom it represented. He loved it so much he felt compelled to fight a brutal, savage bloody civil war, both to retain this great Republic for the world and to end the scourge of slavery. Today, few remember at all that both were his goals. It is a shame we do not have anyone around today who sees the greatness of America with his moral clarity. I think he would see the evil of socialism and fight it with the same vigor he rejected the dissolution of our union.

Even the majority of Republicans have gotten on the big government bandwagon to socialism, following George Bush down the path to "compassionate conservatism". What has that gotten us? As Bush has found, being a socialist light is not good enough for those who hate us. The minions of global socialist are winning the battle for our schools, and this time around, the battle for political power. The result will be more tyranny than the current gullible supporters of Barack Obama have ever bargained for.

This article talks about the plan by Barack Obama to create a powerful police state force, equal to the military. Obama has not hidden this agenda. How can so many be so cavalier about it? Do they really not understand the consequence?

Obama Fires A 'Robin Hood'
Warning Shot

by Charles Hurt - October 15th, 2008 - New York Post

"I've worked hard . . . I work 10 to 12 hours a day and I'm buying this company and I'm going to continue working that way. I'm getting taxed more and more while fulfilling the American Dream."

"It's not that I want to punish your success," Obama told him. "I want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance for success, too.

Then, Obama explained his trickle-up theory of economics.

"My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody. I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

Trickle up! That is the new explanation for the failed theory of socialism / marxism. Trickle up.

At least we no longer have to wonder whether Obama was allied with Bill Ayers or not. Despite his protesting that comparing him to Ayers is unfair, he now admits that he shares the Ayers belief America is unfair and Obama wants to tax the middle class to spread the wealth. It is not how hard you work that should determine how much you are paid. It is whether you exist and are breathing.

Obama believes that giving you a free ride increases the chances that you will work hard. Isn't that putting the cart before the horse? Reward everyone for not working hard and they will start to believe in working hard? Do you believe that?

Clueless On Economics

by George Landrith - October 15th, 2008 - Human Events

Barack Obama has proven over and over again that he just doesn't get it when it comes to the economy. During the summer, his energy plan was to adamantly oppose domestic drilling and -- instead -- to hand out tire gauges to make sure everyone had their tires inflated to the right level.

Here are Obama's own words. “There are things you can do individually, though, to save energy,” Obama said. “Making sure your tires are properly inflated -- simple thing. But we could save all the oil that they're talking about getting off drilling -- if everybody was just inflating their tires. And getting regular tune-ups. You'd actually save just as much!” That stands as one of the most stunningly stupid presidential policy pronouncements in modern history.

What would be amusing (if it was not indicative of a serious conspiracy of evil) is the MSM allowing him to claim he was quoted out of context. He was not. Again and again Barack Obama has made statements that are simply ignorant. The press ignores them and even berates anyone who dares to point out the stupidity. It is not just that Obama is clueless on economics. Obama is clueless on so many issues. This would become obvious if he did not have a subservient press cleaning up his mistakes.
