The Far Left's War On Direct Democracy

by John Fund - July 26, 2008 - The Wall Street Journal

Last year, Mr. Jacob was charged with conspiracy to defraud the state of Oklahoma in a bizarre prosecution that claimed he brought in out-of-state signature gatherers in violation of the state's residency requirement. Yet local public sector unions opposed to Mr. Jacob hired out-of-state outfits such as the Voter Education Project, an AFL-CIO offshoot that specializes in harassing signature drives.

It was implied but not stated that this is an incredible double standard. The unions can violate the law. Those who oppose the liberal violation of our equal right laws are harassed.

The issue is affirmative action. It is clear that our courts will not do anything about the abuses of equal protection that this concept has produced. 360,000 white men and women died to end slavery in America. Their descendants are denied the equality they died to provide to the former slaves. Liberal government employees practice extreme hypocrisy in trying to assure the special privilege of affirmative action laws is not ended. That is justice in America today.
