New Orleans Mayor Endorses
Lawmaker Under FBI Probe

NEW ORLEANS (Reuters) - A U.S. congressman from Louisiana, under investigation by the FBI after they found $90,000 in cash in his freezer, was endorsed by New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin on Saturday and vowed that allegations of bribery would not hurt his re-election campaign.

"I have been effective, and I will continue to be," Democratic Rep. William Jefferson said as he opened his campaign for re-election in November 7 congressional election.

As this weekend comes to a close I am still struggling with how to comment on politics and yet not comment on a certain gay individual who resigned from congress to avoid being lambasted by his colleagues and allow his colleagues to be accused of gay bashing. The result was of course that his colleagues were lambasted for not gay bashing but for gay coddling. Is this a great country or what? If you are a Republican you are wrong no matter what you do.

While at the same time noted New Orleans Democrat Ray Nagin, the master of hurricane organization who pointed out how incompetent the federal government is during Katrina, has endorsed the highly ethical democrat congressional representative who is being persecuted by the Republicans for getting caught with $90,000 of bribes in his freezer. This gets no play at all.

No matter how the election next month comes out, you have to admire a political party that controls the press like the democrats do. The MSM remain their lap dogs, even when they are out of power.
